Have you got a logo design that you want to change the colors of, but you’re not sure how?

In this article, we’ll take you through the easy steps of changing the color of an imported logo or image in Canva.

Let’s go.

Jump to a section:

Best option:

How to change the color of a logo in Canva Using Duotone:

  1. Upload your logo file
  2. Go to ‘Edit image’
  3. Choose a ‘Duotone’ effect
  4. Adjust the highlights and shadows
  5. Apply the changes

Other options:

More tips:

Using Duotone

In our opinion, this is by far the easiest and best method of changing the color of an imported logo design in Canva, if it’s in a PNG file format. Here’s how it’s done:

Step 1: Upload your logo file

The first step is to login to your Canva account, open a blank canvas in your preferred dimensions (most likely square dimensions if you’re creating a logo design), and then upload your PNG logo design file.

The uploaded logo file will appear in the ‘Uploads’ tab on the left side of the editor:

Uploaded logo design file

Simply click on it to add it to your canvas (we also cropped our logo image just to leave the letters and added a background color):

Logo design added to canvas

Step 2: Go to ‘Edit image’

The next step is to select your logo and then click on ‘Edit image’ on the left side of the top panel, this will bring up a bunch of customization options:

Navigating to ‘Edit image’

Step 3: Choose a Duotone effect

Scroll down the customization options in the ‘Edit image’ area until you get to ‘Duotone’:

Navigating to Duotone

Click ‘See all’ to view all the Duotone color combination options:

Duotone options

There are plenty of options there, and if you like one of the preset combinations e.g. ‘Amber’ you simply need to click on it, and it will be applied to your logo design:

Applying the ‘Amber’ duotone filter

Step 4: Adjust the highlights and shadows

You can also adjust the highlights and shadows of a duotone filter which will alter the colors. To do that you need click on the ‘control’ lines overlaying your selected Dutone filter:

‘Controls’ overlay

This will bring up options to adjust the highlights and shadows colors, as well as adjust the intensity of your Duotone filter over the original logo design colors:

Further Duotone adjustments

So, if you want to play around with the colors and adjust them to find a combination that you like you can do that.

Alternatively, if you have a specific color or colors in mind, you can select any Duotone color filter, and adjust the highlights and shadows to be the colors you want (including being able to paste in a specific color hex code):

It’s also worth noting that the dominant color will be the ‘Highlights’ color, and the ‘Shadows’ color will be secondary.

If you only want one color for your logo design, you can simply select that color for both the highlights and the shadows:

Making the logo one color only

Step 5: Apply your changes and download

Once you’re happy with your adjustments, you can click the ‘Apply’ button, and your customized logo is ready to be downloaded.

Go to ‘Share’ > ‘Download’ and choose your download settings.

If you have a Canva Pro account you can download your logo as an SVG file, or as a PNG file with a transparent background which useful if you’re using your logo on different documents and platforms:

Downloading with a transparent background

If you don’t have Canva Pro you can use a free background remover like Kapwing’s, or an alternative online design tool like Adobe Express which offers that functionality for free.

We cover that in our guide: Adobe Express vs Canva.

Optional step: Change the colors of different parts of the logo

If you want to change the color of separate parts of the logo design, you can do this using Duotone as well.

All you need to do is copy the logo design on your canvas and paste in a second version.

Make sure the second logo is lined up perfectly over the first logo, you can do this by aligning both layers to the middle and center of the canvas:

Centering the logo element

You can then change the second logo design to the color you want using Duotone again, go to the crop tool, crop it to cover the area of the logo that you want, and click done once you’re finished:

Using the crop tool
Selecting the part of the image to crop

And that’s how you can use Duotone to change the colors of separate parts of the same logo design:

That process can be repeated as many times as you want, we added a third layer and cropped it to create this logo:

Three separate logo layers and colors

If you have a more intricate logo design with elements overlapping each other this can make it tricky to change the colors using Duotone and the cropping method of additional layers.

For example, in our logo design above the D letter overlaps the H letter, so this makes it tricky to simply use the crop tool to make the H a different color from the D.

We had to copy the logo design many times, and do several small crops to get the effect:

Using the crop tool several times

But with a little patience it is possible (although you can also use the ColorMix filter for this which we’ll cover next):

Final logo design with Duotone

Using ColorMix

You can also use ColorMix to alter the colors of a logo or image on Canva.

Click on the logo design, and go to ‘Edit image’ again, and then scroll down to find the ‘ColorMix’ optons.

Clicking ‘See all’ with bring up all the ColorMix presets:

Navigating to ColorMix
ColorMix presets

You can click on the ‘Control’ lines overlaying your selected ColorMix preset to make further adjustments to the colors:

Clicking on the ‘Control’ lines

You’ll get the option to adjust the Hue and Saturation, and can quickly change a logo design from this:

Choosing the ‘Parakeet’ ColorMix preset

To this:

Adjusting the Hue and Saturation

And that’s how you can use ColorMix to change the color of a logo design or an image on Canva, as mentioned it works quite well with more intricate logo designs too, so try it out if that’s the kind of design you have.

Using Photogenic

The next method for changing the color of an imported logo in Canva is to the Photogenic filters.

It’s the same process as before, where you go the ‘Edit image’ area and navigate to the ‘Photogenic’ options, click on ‘See all’ and then select one that works for you:

Photogenic options

When you select on the Photogenic presets you’ll again get the options click on the ‘Controls’ lines overlay to make further adjustments. However, with the Photogenic filter you only get the option to adjust the intensity of the filter:

Adjusting the inensity

Using Adjust

When it comes to using the image filters and effects to change the color of a logo or image, the ‘Adjust’ option is probably the least effective.

To use it, you need to go to ‘Edit image’ again, find the ‘Adjust options’ and click on ‘See all’:

Adjust options

You can modify the logo designs slightly by adjusting the various options – it’s not all that effective in altering the colors. So, if you need more control we’d definitely recommend using on the previous methods:

Using the ‘Adjust’ options

How to make a logo white in Canva

If you’re looking to turn a logo design that you’ve uploaded to Canva completely white, it’s super easy. All you need to do is follow the Duotone steps mentioned previously, and choose to make your logo white.

Here’s a recap if you’ve forgotten:

Step 1: Upload logo and go to ‘Edit image’

Import your logo design file to Canva, add it to the design canvas, then go to ‘Edit image’ and find the Duotone options:

Navigating to ‘Edit image’

Step 2: Use the Duotone effect

Choose any Duotone effect, and then click on the ‘Control’ lines overlay to get more options. Then simply change the ‘Highlights’ and ‘Shadows’ to white:

Accessing more controls
Changing the colors to white

Step 3: Apply the changes and download

Apply the changes, and now your new white logo is ready to download.

As mentioned previously, you can download the design with a transparent background if you have Canva Pro, or use another free tool like Kapwing or Adobe Express to remove the background once you’ve downloaded it from Canva.

Here’s our final all white version of the our logo design:

Final white logo design

How to change the color of an SVG logo in Canva

If you upload an SVG logo file to Canva, you can change the colors much more easily.

Simply upload your SVG, add it to your canvas, select it and you should have the option to modify the color palette via the top panel:

SVG logo design

The SVG logo file example from the image above came from a website called Vecteezy, which has plenty of logo designs you can use for free with attribution.

It’s also worth noting that Canva is a little bit buggy when it comes to SVG files, they won’t always load properly on Canva, and you might not be able to edit all elements e.g. text elements, etc.

However, you can always use ‘Duotone’ to modify the colors, and this includes SVGs too.

How to change the color of Canva logo templates

If you choose a logo template from Canva, it’s super easy to change the colors.

You simply need to start your design from an existing template on Canva, or if you’re starting from a blank canvas, go to the templates tab on the left side of the editor and search for logo templates:

Searching for logo templates

Once you’ve chosen one and added it to the editor, you’ll notice that when you select an individual element from the logo design you’ll either be able to change the color via the top panel or go through the ‘Edit image’ > ‘Duotone’ steps to change the color of an individual element:

Changing the color of an individual element

FAQs

Here are some answers to common FAQs around this topic:

Why can’t I change the color of an element in Canva?

Some of the elements in Canva such as images don’t allow you to change the color of them in the same way as shape element or text element where you can choose your color from the top panel.

Often, you can select an element, go to ‘Edit image’ and choose one of the options there such as ‘Duotone’ to change the element color.

How to change the color of a logo online?

You can use Canva by following the steps in this article. Another great (and free) option, particularly if you’re logo is an EPS or SVG file is to use Photopea.

How do I change the color of an object in Canva?

The best way to change the color of an object in Canva is to use the color options via the top panel above the editor.

However, if you trying to change the color of an image or object in Canva and the color options aren’t there you should use Duotone or ColorMix. Refer to the steps in this guide to do that.

When it comes to logo makers, you’d be forgiven for not having considered Fotor as one of the top options.

The tool is more widely recognized for being a solid online photo editor, however, they’ve added more tools and templates to the product including logo templates.

We decided to give their logo maker a closer look to see if it stacks up to the best online logo generators.

This article will take you through the main features of Fotor’s logo maker, and also show you how to create your own logo with the tool.

Jump to a specific section:

Section 1: Overview

If you haven’t come across Fotor before, here’s a quick overview:

What is Fotor?

Fotor is primarily an online photo editor, it’s deemed by many to be a fantastic free PicMonkey alternative. With Fotor you can easily alter photos with enhancements, background removal, and a whole range of other photo effects.

It’s all done within your browser and much of the product is available to use for free as well.

You can create collages with Fotor, and as mentioned previously, you can now create designs using their online design software (including logos).

Similar to Placeit, Canva, and BrandCrowd, Fotor’s logo maker is template-based. So, all you need to do as a user is find a template you like, and modify it to make it unique to your brand.

Their logo template library has around 330 designs at the time of writing, which is a decent amount but not quite as many as some other logo makers.

Fotor homepage

Fotor also offers the following:

  • Photo editing
  • Collage maker
  • NFT maker
  • Social media content
  • Social media profile art
  • Presentations
  • Flyers
  • Banner ads
  • And much more.

Section 2: How to make a logo with Fotor

Here’s are the steps needed to create a quality logo with Fotor:

Step 1: Search for logo templates

From your Fotor dashboard homepage, navigate to the ‘Create a Design’ section:

Starting the logo creation process

You’ll see an option for ‘Logo’. If you click that you’ll be taken to the editor and can select a logo template from the templates tab on the side. You can also create your design from a blank canvas via the ‘Custom Size’ option (more on that later).

Alternatively, you can navigate to the templates section of the Fotor dashboard, go to the ‘Marketing’ tab and click on logo templates. You can filter the logo templates further by categories such as ‘Food’:

Searching the logo template categories

This will allow you to find relevant logo templates faster:

Food logo templates on Fotor

If you hover over a template you’ll see two symbols appear. The star symbol saves that template your favorites list which you can navigate back to later, whilst clicking the eye symbol if clicked on gives you more information about that templates:

Viewing and favoriting logo templates

After clicking the eye symbol you’ll see a pop-up similar to the image below with more details about the logo templates, and also a ‘Pro’ tag if the template is available for premium Fotor subscribers only:

Viewing the logo details

Step 2: Choose your template or…

Next up, you need to choose your template.

All you have to click on the template you like or go to the more information popup and click the ‘Use this Template’ button. Both options will take you to the editor.

Choosing your logo template on Fotor

As mentioned previously, you can start your design off from a blank canvas. You can either do this by clicking on the logo option from the templates section in the dashboard or by choosing the ‘custom size’ option and inputting square dimensions e.g. 1500x1500px.

To add elements to your design from a blank canvas you can browse through the illustrations and icons in the ‘Elements’ tab and add a Text element or two as well:

Adding elements to a blank canvas

Step 3: Customize your logo

Now it’s time to customize your logo design.

Whether you choose to start from a blank canvas or from a pre-designed template, the steps from here are pretty much the same.

With Fotor you can customize most aspects of the templates and design elements, as well as add additional text and graphic elements to your design.

The interface is very smooth and easy to use as it is with most online logo makers.

Altering the text elements is very easy. With a couple of clicks, you can change the size, color, font, rotation, spacing, and much more.

Simply click on the text element to move it around the canvas and you will also see the additional customization options above the canvas:

Text customization options

The font library of Fotor is fairly similar to most other logo makers, however, they do offer some fonts that are unique to their tool (for premium subscribers only) and they have a good range of Chinese and other international fonts.

You can even upload your own fonts to use on the platform.

Moving the text and changing the font

Customizing your main logo graphic or icon is just as easy.

You can move the graphics around the canvas, resize, rotate them, etc.

Like with the text elements, the customization options appear above the canvas so everything is easy and quick to execute:

Element customization options

You can also add an unlimited amount of additional elements. However, most of the graphics (particularly the high quality ones) are for premium users only. You can tell if an element is for Pro users if it has the diamond icon over it:

Pro design elements

When you’re done modifying your logo design, it’s time to download it.

You can download the design as a PNG, JPG, or PDF file, and Fotor gives you the option to download your logo design with a transparent background if you have a Pro subscription:

Downloading your logo design

And that’s it. You’ve created a logo with Fotor.

You can download some designs for free with Fotor, but we think there are a few better completely free logo makers around at the moment.

Here are six versions of the final logo design we created:

Section 3: Logo maker review

To review Fotor’s logo maker we looked at how it performed in these areas:

Let’s see how it went.

3.1 Templates & Graphics

Fotor has an okay range of pre-designed logos with around 330 at the time of writing.

However, when you compare this to some of the other top logo makers on the market they fall short of some of the other tools, namely Placeit, Canva, and BrandCrowd.

Many of the logo templates on Fotor are of good quality but they don’t have a huge selection for most niches and categories.

Logo templates on Fotor

Here are some of the well-stocked logo template categories on Fotor:

Food logos:

Food logos on Fotor

Gaming logos:

Gaming logos on Fotor

Beauty logos:

Beauty logos on Fotor

The quality of the logos on Fotor is good but not as good as some other tools. We would say Placeit and Canva are currently quite a bit ahead in terms of design quality.

As mentioned, in some categories such as business or photography logos there aren’t a huge number of templates to choose from.

If you’re looking for online logo makers that have plenty of high-quality and unique logo templates, we’d again recommend taking a look at Placeit’s logo maker, BrandCrowd’s logo maker, or Canva’s logo maker.

Additional graphics & icons

If you looking to utilize multiple graphics for your logo design or create your logo from a blank canvas you can utilize Fotor’s good-sized library of graphics and icons.

The quality of the graphics and icons is good, however, the majority of the quality graphics are reserved for Pro users only. There are some good free graphics to utilize but these are few and far between.

Icons on Fotor
illustrations on Fotor

It would be great if Fotor released some more of their graphic library to free users, however, the Pro subscription price is very reasonable so if you’re desperate to access the full library it won’t cost you too much.

3.2 Ease of use & functionality

Fotor is incredibly easy to use and intuitive. Most people will be able to learn how to use it in no time at all.

When using Fotor to create your logo you have plenty of control and customization options for your design. You can modify most aspects of it.

Overall Fotor is a solid logo maker but there are a few improvement areas. We cover the positives and negatives in the following sections:

  • Resizing & repositioning
  • Altering the colors
  • Text & font options
  • Download options
  • Collaborations options

Resizing & repositioning

Resizing and repositioning all the different design elements on Fotor is incredibly easy.

You simply need to select an element (or group on elements) and you can move it around, resize it and Fotor’s guidelines make it very easy to make sure all your elements are aligned perfectly.

Aligning and moving logo design elements

You can also easily group elements together to move them around as one unit or resize, reposition, rotate them, etc.

You can also use the customization features such as element alignment options – these are very similar to what Canva offers and make lining up your design and elements super quick.

Grouping elements and quick alignment options

Altering the colors

It’s very easy to alter the colors of your logo design elements and background too.

You simply click on an element and the color customization options appear above the canvas.

You can choose from color presets, or input your own color if you have the hex code:

Color customization options

A few things that Fotor lacks in regards to their color options are gradients, and color effects similar to what Canva offers such as Duotone filters, and several others.

With a Pro Fotor account you can also create custom color palettes which is useful if you are creating designs for several brands or clients with defined color palettes:

Additional color options

Text & font options

The text and font options on Fotor are solid but not fantastic. They offer a similar range of fonts as most of the other logo makers, but they do offer a few unique fonts for Pro users.

Like Canva and several other online design software, you can upload your own fonts too which is a useful feature.

That feature is for Pro users only though:

Font options on Fotor

Customizing the text on Fotor is super easy. In a couple of clicks, you can resize, reposition, change the text color, duplicate, group text elements, etc.

All the classic customization options that you would expect from a good quality logo maker.

One feature Fotor offers that few other logo makers do is international fonts. They have a library of fonts in Chinese, Japanese, and a few other languages:

Chinese fonts on Fotor

The text effects Fotor offers fall short of some of the other logo makers at the moment, particularly Canva.

Fotor seems to be trying to match Canva’s offering but they currently have a much smaller set of text effects, plus they don’t offer uses the ability to curve text which would be a very useful feature for creating logos.

Text effects on Fotor

That being said there’s still plenty of features on Fotor when it comes to creating good-looking text for your logos, certainly better than many logo makers around at the moment.

Download options

When you download a logo design from Fotor you can choose between JPG, PNG, and PDF file types – all the essentials.

You can also choose to download the file with a solid color or transparent background (Pro feature only) which is a really useful feature:

Download options on Fotor

Collaboration options

No real collaborations options but you can share your designs:

3.3 Customer Support

If you need any help or customer support there are a few areas you can go on Fotor:

3.4 Our Verdict

After reviewing Fotor’s logo maker we’d say that it’s a good option but currently not as good as some other logo makers at the moment.

Canva, Placeit, and BrandCrowd are way ahead of them at the moment when it comes to the quality of their logo templates, the variety and number of templates available, and the customization options too.

That being said, Fotor has some good templates and plenty of quality customization options too so it’s definitely a decent option when it comes to logo makers.

Here’s what we feel are the main pros and cons with Fotor’s logo maker:

Pros

  • Some good-quality logo templates
  • Easy to use and intuitive
  • Good text customization
  • Solid color customization
  • Good quality illustration library
  • Free logo templates
  • You can use your own fonts
  • International fonts
  • Quality premium fonts

Cons

  • Standard free font options
  • Hard to find logo templates for some niches
  • Not as many text effects as a tool like Canva
  • No colour effects for graphics and illustrations
  • Can’t curve text

Section 4: Pricing

Here are pricing options for Fotor:

  • Free plan
  • Fotor Pro: $39.99 /year
  • Fotor Pro+: $89.99 /year
Fotor pricing

Free logo templates on Fotor

As mentioned previously, you can download some logo templates from Fotor completely for free (at a size of 600x600px).

When you’re browsing the templates (or the graphic elements) pay attention to whether there’s a diamond icon on it. If so, it means that’s it a Pro-only element or template, and not for free users.

Free and premium logos on Fotor

Section 5: Licensing

Depending on what you’ve used for your logo in terms of fonts, graphics, icons, etc. you might be able to use your logo design for commercial purposes.

It’s up to the users to ensure they have the appropriate license to do so.

Here’s the full answer to the question on the Fotor QnA board.

Section 6: What else does Fotor offer?

You can do a whole lot more with Fotor than simply creating logos, here are some other things that the tool offers:

  • App – for Mac, Windows, and Smartphones
  • Social media designs – Instagram stories, Facebook posts, etc.
  • Print designs – business cards, posters, and much more
  • Photo editor – crop images, utlize a suite of photo effects
  • Collage maker – easily make photo collages

Section 7: Alternative logo makers & options

There are a few online logo makers that we feel are better options than Fotor at the moment:

With a superior volume and quality of logo templates, BrandCrowd, Placeit, and Canva are fantastic logo generators. Wix is also a really solid option.

If you’re looking for a more bespoke and unique logo design then we’d recommend hiring a designer to create one for you. We did that for Design Hub and used a designer via Fiverr.

It’s an affordable and quick option, and you can get a logo design created with only your company and brand in mind.

Final thoughts

Fotor is a good logo maker with some quality templates and features. Their intuitive interface makes creating a logo and other designs a total breeze.

However, there are some better logo makers out there at the moment, so we’d recommend checking them out before Fotor. If you’re looking for a bespoke and unique logo design we’d encourage you to find a designer on a platform like Fiverr.

So, do you agree? What do you think of Fotor’s logo maker?

Let us know in the comments, we’d love to hear about your experience.

With a stellar reputation in professional photo editing and vector graphics software, Adobe has had success in the design space for a long time with its high-quality suite of tools.

More recently, they released their own online design software to compete with Canva: Adobe Spark (see our comparison: Canva vs Adobe Express).

With Adobe Spark you can create a whole range of designs including social media content, presentations, videos, and they have their very own logo maker too.

We gave their logo maker a full run-through to see if it was on a par with the best online logo generators currently available.

This article will take you through the main features of Adobe Spark’s logo maker, and also show you step by step how to create your own logo with the product.

Jump to a specific section:

Section 1: Overview

If you haven’t come across Adobe Spark yet, here’s a quick overview of the product:

What is Adobe Spark?

Adobe Spark is a product that was created by Adobe as a quality Canva alternative in an attempt to gain market share in the growing online graphic design software space.

You can create a whole host of designs and content with the tool which has a great range of pre-designed templates that you can utilize as the starting point for your creations.

Like some of their main competitors including Placeit, BrandCrowd, and Canva, their logo maker is template-based and not AI-powered like Wix logo maker.

They have a good-sized library of logo templates (over 400 at the time of writing), and these templates cover plenty of styles, niches, and industries.

Adobe Spark homepage

You can also create the following with Adobe Spark:

  • Social media content
  • Social media profile art
  • Web pages
  • Presentations
  • Flyers
  • Videos
  • Infographics
  • T-shirt designs
  • And even more.

Section 2: How to make a logo with Adobe Spark

Here’s are the steps needed to create a quality logo with Adobe Spark:

Step 1: Search for logo templates

From your Adobe Spark dashboard homepage, search for ‘logo’ in the main search bar:

Searching for logo templates on Spark

You’ll see a results page with various logo templates. If you want to filter the results further you can add additional words to your search or select filters e.g. ‘food’ to only see templates that relate to those filters:

Using filters to narrow down your search

You should now have a good selection of predesigned logo templates to browse through:

Logo templates on Adobe Spark

It’s worth noting that if there’s a yellow tag on one of the templates, it means it’s a premium template and you’ll need an Adobe Spark paid subscription to use and download it:

Premium logo templates

The logo templates that don’t have the yellow tag can be customized and downloaded for free. Unfortunately, there’s no filter that lets you only see the free templates.

To create a high-quality completely free logo design we’d recommend checking out our free logo makers article, there are some great tools listed there (in particular Placeit and Canva have some great free templates).

Step 2: Choose your template

The next step is to choose your template.

All you have to do is browse the available logo templates and choose one that you like.

Unfortunately, like some other logo makers, Adobe Spark doesn’t give you the option to ‘favorite’ templates. So, you can save a bunch of templates you like and come back to them to make your final decision.

Simply click on a template you like, and then click on the ‘Create from this template’ button in the popup that will appear:

Choosing your logo template on Adobe Spark

Now comes the fun part. Customizing your logo.

You potentially skip choosing a logo template, and simply start from a blank canvas. If you do that then you’ll need to add design elements and text to the canvas yourself but the customization options will be the same.

There are plenty of design assets to choose from, including some great-looking illustrations, shapes, and various other elements:

Design assets on Adobe Spark

Whatever option you choose – whether to start from a blank canvas or choose a template, the customization options will be pretty much the same.

Adobe Spark gives you the ability to customize most aspects of the logo design, as well as give you the ability to add additional text and graphic elements.

When it comes to customizing the text, like with most logo makers it’s very simple.

You can easily change the text content, size, color, font, rotation, spacing, and more. The text customization options appear on the right side of the screen after you select a text element layer:

Logo text customization options

Adobe Spark offers a very similar range of fonts to other logo makers, with a couple of Adobe fonts thrown in for free too.

If you want to access the full range of Adobe fonts you’ll need to have an active Adobe Creative Cloud subscription, and this gives you the ability to use thousands of quality premium fonts.

At the moment, it doesn’t seem that Adobe Spark offers users the ability to upload their own fonts.

When it comes to adjusting the text elements you can do this easily. It’s simple to move them around the canvas, resize, rotate them, etc. and you can group text elements together too, as well as add an unlimited amount of text fields.

Moving the text and changing the font

When it comes to customizing the main logo graphic or icon, things are just as simple.

You can move the graphics around the canvas, resize, rotate them, etc.

A lot of the graphics, particularly the illustrations don’t have many options to alter their colors, however, you can use filters and enhancements to tweak the color palette of the graphics:

Modifying the main graphic color

You can also add an unlimited amount of additional graphics. On the left side, you can go to the ‘Icons’ or ‘Design Assets’ tab and browse through the different options there and add what you like to your design:

Adding additional design graphics

When you’ve finished customizing your design, the next step is to download it.

If you want to adjust the size of your design you can do so (even for free, unlike on Canva) from the right side of the screen by clicking the ‘Resize’ tab. All that’s left is to hit the download button.

You can download the design as a PNG, JPG, or PDF file, and Adobe Spark also gives you the option to download your design with a transparent background, even if you only have a free account:

Downloading your logo design

And that’s you done, you’ve created a logo with Adobe Spark. It’s worth noting that you can remove the Adobe Spark watermark for free if you click on and click ‘remove’ to have a completely clean design.

Here are three versions of the final logo we created:

Section 3: Logo maker review

To review Adobe Spark’s logo maker we looked at how it performed in these areas:

Let’s see how it went.

3.1 Templates & Graphics

Adobe Spark has a decent-sized library of pre-designed logos (over 800 at the time of writing), and there are plenty of good-looking designs.

At the moment we say there are a few logo makers that have a better range of templates, namely Placeit and BrandCrowd.

The templates on Adobe Spark cover all the major categories and niches including sports, pets, entertainment, technology, fitness, beauty, and many others.

Logo templates on Adobe Spark

You can’t really browse through template categories on Adobe Spark but you can search for specific templates e.g. ‘gaming logo’ or ‘fashion logo’ which does show you some relevant templates (but not always).

Here are some of the logo template categories on Adobe Spark:

Food logos:

Food logos on Adobe Spark

Outdoor & Travel logos:

Outdoor & Travel logos on Adobe Spark

Gaming logos:

Gaming logos on Adobe Spark

Sports logos:

Sports logos on Adobe Spark

Beauty logos:

Travel & Hotel logos on Adobe Spark

The quality of the logos on Adobe spark is good but not incredible, and in some categories e.g. gaming logos there aren’t a big number of templates to choose from. We wouldn’t say they are amongst the best gaming logo makers.

That being said, if you browse enough you can certainly find some quality templates to work with.

If you’re looking for online logo makers that have plenty of high-quality logo templates and a huge variety of unique designs that you can use as the starting point for your design, we’d recommend trying out Placeit’s logo maker, BrandCrowd’s logo maker, or Canva’s logo maker.

Additional graphics & icons

If you looking to add additional design elements to your logo design or you’re starting from a blank canvas you’ll have to browse through the graphics and icons in Adobe spark’s library.

The quality of the icons is fairly standard and average but they do have some high-quality illustrations that you potentially use as part of your design.

To get access to all the high-quality additional design assets in Adobe Spark’s library you’ll need a premium account.

Icons on Adobe Spark
illustrations on Adobe Spark

It would be great if Adobe could add a greater range of design elements that could be used as part of a logo design, as their library can’t match what some of the other online design tools have at the moment, in particular Canva.

3.2 Ease of use & functionality

Like the majority of web-based design tools and online logo creators, there’s almost no learning curve. It’s incredibly easy to jump onto the tool and start creating.

Adobe Spark gives you a good amount of control and allows you to customize many aspects of the designs and design elements.

There are a few areas that we feel Adobe Spark could improve and we’ll touch on these in the following sections:

  • Resizing & repositioning
  • Altering the colors
  • Text & font options
  • Download options
  • Collaborations options

Resizing & repositioning

Resizing and repositioning design elements on Adobe Spark is super easy. You can select something and move it around, resize it and with the guidelines, Spark makes it easy to align elements up in relation to each other and the canvas.

Aligning design elements

You can also group design elements together and then move them around or resize them to where you want them on the canvas which makes things much easier and quicker to line up.

The layering system that Spark has is also very intuitive and they even show a visualization of each layer so you can easily select what layer you want to edit:

Grouping elements and the layers visualization

Altering the colors

Altering the colors of your logo design elements and background is very simple too.

All you need to do is select an element or the background layer and the color options appear on the right side of the editor.

You can choose from color presets, or input your own color if you have the hex code. The only thing missing from the basic color customization options is gradients:

Basic color customization options

If you want to quickly change the whole color scheme of your logo design, Adobe Spark has a color palette section that allows you to completely switch the colors of your design:

Color palette options

When it comes to customizing the colors of some elements such as illustrations the options are a bit more limited. However, you can utilize filters including the duotone filter that adds a color overlay to illustrations and other graphic elements that have limited color options:

Utilizing the duotone color filter

Text & font options

The text and font options on Adobe Spark are okay but not amazing. They have the standard range of fonts that most logo makers have so it would be great if they included some of the fonts from the Adobe font range for the free Adobe spark users.

That being said, if you have a Creative Cloud subscription you can access the full Adobe font library and utilize those fonts on Adobe Spark.

You can also upload your own fonts to Adobe Spark which is a great feature, however, you can only do this if you have a paid subscription:

Font options on Adobe Spark

Customizing the text on Adobe Spark is super easy. You can effortlessly resize, reposition, change the text color, duplicate, group text elements, etc. All the essentials that you would expect from a quality online design tool.

When it comes to the text effects Adobe Spark doesn’t offer a huge amount of options. With a tool like Canva, you can do so much more but spark offers just a few options including adding a shape behind the text, drop shadow, and a text outline.

You can also curve the text in Adobe Spark but, unlike Canva, you can adjust how big or small the curve is:

Text effects on Adobe Spark

With online logo makers, the text customization options are never going to be endless but we feel that Adobe Spark is a little bit behind a few other tools, in particular Canva.

For example, you can change the color of individual letters or words within the same text field (you need to add a whole new text field if you want to do that), and there is no easy or quick way to change the text to uppercase or lowercase.

That being said there are still plenty of features on Adobe Spark when it comes to the text to create some great-looking logo designs.

Download options

When you download a logo design from Adobe Spark you can choose between JPG, PNG, and PDF file types – all the essentials.

You can also choose to download the file with a solid color or transparent background (even for free designs) which is a really useful feature:

Choosing the background type for download

Collaboration options

Adobe Spark also offers good collaboration features. You can easily invite collaborators to comment on or edit your design:

Inviting collaborators

3.3 Customer Support

If you need any help or customer support there are a few areas you can go on Adobe Spark:

  • Spark Learn – Videos and guides on how to use the tool
  • Twitter – You can also reach out to them via Twitter

3.4 Our Verdict

After reviewing Adobe Spark’s logo maker we’d say that it’s a solid logo maker, but not anywhere near as good as some of the other options available.

Canva, Placeit, and BrandCrowd are way ahead of them at the moment in terms of the number and quality of logo templates to choose from.

That being said, Adobe Spark does have some good quality templates and a decent range of customization options. It’s also incredibly intuitive and easy to use so anyone can use the tool to create their own logo.

Here’s what we feel are the main pros and cons with Adobe Spark’s logo maker:

Pros

  • Some good-quality logo templates
  • Very easy to use and intuitive
  • Solid text customization options
  • Good color customization options
  • Quality illustrations to utilize
  • Free logo templates!
  • Good collaboration features
  • You can upload your own fonts
  • Unlimited edits of your designs
  • Download with transparent background (for free)

Cons

  • Standard free font options
  • Standard icons
  • Can’t select and move multiple elements at the same time
  • Hard to find logo templates for some niches
  • Not as many text effects as a tool like Canva
  • Can’t alter the color of many graphic elements

Section 4: Pricing

Here are pricing options for Adobe Spark:

  • Free plan
  • Monthly subscription: $9.99
  • Annual subscription: $99.99
  • Team plan: $19.99 /month or $239.99 /year

Free logo templates on Adobe Spark

As mentioned previously, you can download some logo templates from Adobe Spark completely for free.

When you’re browsing the templates (or the graphic elements) pay attention to whether there’s a gold tag on it. If so, it means that’s it a premium element or template, and if not it’s a free one.

Section 5: Licensing

Depending on what you’ve used for your logo in terms of fonts, graphics, icons, etc. you might be able to use your logo design for commercial purposes.

It’s up to the users to ensure they have the appropriate license to do so.

Here’s more information about it in the Adobe Spark community boards.

Section 6: What else does Adobe Spark offer?

You can do a whole lot more with Adobe Spark than simply creating logos, here are some other things that Spark offers:

  • Social media designs – Instagram stories, Facebook posts, etc.
  • Web page builder – create your own web pages such as a journal or portfolio
  • Print designs – business cards, posters, and much more
  • Video maker – social media videos, slideshows, promos, etc.

Section 7: Alternative logo makers & options

There are a few online logo makers that we feel are superior alternatives to Adobe Spark at the moment:

When it comes to the sheer volume and quality of logo templates available, BrandCrowd, Placeit, and Canva are fantastic logo generators.

Fiverr logo design gigs

Final thoughts

Adobe Spark is a good online design tool, that features a decent logo maker. They have some good quality templates and the intuitive setup of the tool makes it incredibly easy to customize them to make them unique to your brand.

There are better logo makers out there, so we’d recommend checking them out before Adobe Spark. If you’re looking for a completely bespoke design we’d encourage you to find a designer on a platform like Fiverr.

So, do you agree? What do you think of Adobe Spark’s logo maker?

When it comes to using an online logo maker to make your own logo there’s plenty of options.

One of those is LogoDesign.net which has a large variety of pre-designed logo templates that you can customize to make your own.

We decided to give their logo maker a full review to see if it can compete with the top online logo generators currently on the market.

This article will take you through the main features of LogoDesign.net’s logo maker, and also show you how to create your own logo on the platform step by step.

Jump to a specific section:

Section 1: Overview

If you haven’t come across LogoDesign.net before, here’s a little bit about them:

What is LogoDesign.net?

LogoDesign.net started life out solely as a logo maker and the company has since broadened its offering to include custom logo designs, a website builder, business card design maker, and much more.

The main part of the business is still their logo maker which is a templated-based logo generator much like Placeit, BrandCrowd, and Canva.

They have a good-sized library of logo templates (although we couldn’t see exactly how many in total there were on the platform), and these span various niches and industries.

LogoDesign.net logo maker

As mentioned, LogoDesign.net has also recently expanded its offering to include a broader range of online creation tools and templates including:

  • Custom logo designs
  • Website builder
  • Business card generator
  • Mockup generator
  • T-shirt design maker
  • And even more.

Section 2: How to make a logo with LogoDesign.net

Here’s a step-by-step breakdown of how to create a logo with LogoDesign.net:

Step 1: Enter your brand name or choose a category

To start your logo creation journey with LogoDesign.net, go to their logo maker main page and enter your brand name and your niche/industry:

Music logo templates on LogoDesign.net

You’ll see a results page with various logo templates with your brand name already included and the templates should match the niche you chose.

Alternatively, you can simply select one of the template categories from the main dropdown menu in the top navigation bar:

Choosing a category from the drop-down menu

From here you can filter the results by the logo style you’re after (Symbol, Alphabet, or Text). The default results will be ‘Symbol’ logos, and these are simply logos that include a main logo graphic in the design:

Filtering by logo type

The ‘Alphabet’ logo templates are essentially lettermarks, and these will be the first letter of your brand name (in our case ‘D’).

These designs are fairly generic and likely won’t have a design style that matches the initial niche or industry you put (e.g. ‘hiking’ or ‘music’):

Alphabet logos (lettermarks)

The ‘Text’ logos are simply your brand name (with a slogan below), and like the Alphabet logo templates, these are mostly generic and not industry-specific.

So, if you want a logo that’s related to your industry you’ll need to select the ‘Symbol’ option:

Text logos

If you’re looking to create a logo for free with LogoDesign.net you can, although it’s not obvious which templates are free, and also there’s no option to filter the templates to show only the free ones on the platform.

To create a high-quality completely free logo design we’d recommend checking out our free logo makers article, there are some great tools listed there (in particular Placeit and Canva have some great free templates).

Step 2: Choose your template

The next step is to choose your template.

There’s plenty of templates on LogoDesign.net, so to make things easier when you’re browsing the designs you can save the ones you like to your favorites list.

To add templates to your favorites list simply click on the heart icon on a template:

Favoriting a template on LogoDesign.net

To navigate to your favorites, simply click on the heart icon at the top right of the screen:

Navigating your ‘favorites’

Once you’ve chosen the logo templates your going to use, all you have to do is click on the thumbnail image of the logo or the ‘Select’ button to navigate to the logo editor.

Step 3: Customize your logo

Depending on the logo template you choose on LogoDesign.net you’ll have slightly different customization options.

A lot of the gamine logo templates with the logo text sitting over the main graphic have a fairly limited editor.

With these templates, you can’t add additional elements or change the size, layout, or position of the existing logo elements. You can only change the colors, font type, and text content:

Limited customization options

With other templates (the ones where the text and graphic elements are separate) you have more customization options:

Template with more customization options

These templates allow you to customize most aspects of the logo design, as well as give you the ability to add additional text and graphic elements.

When it comes to customizing the logo text, like with most logo makers it’s very simple.

You can easily change the text content, size, color, font, rotation, curve, and more. The majority of the text customization options are on the right side of the toolbar (after you select a text element on the canvas):

Main text customization options

The text color and font options can be found on the left side of the toolbar, and above them is also a button for adding additional text fields to the canvas:

More text customization options

You can easily scroll through the different fonts styles (Serif, Sans Serif, Handwriting) and options to find one that works best for your logo.

At the moment, LogoDesign.net doesn’t appear to offer users the ability to upload their own fonts to the platform (probably for licensing reasons).

You can also select the text elements on the canvas and easily resize, rotate, or move them around to where you want them on the canvas.

To delete, or change the layering of a text element you need to click on the ellipsis next to the element:

Moving the text and additional options

Customizing the main logo graphic/symbol is just as simple.

When you select the main graphic, you can move it around the canvas, resize, rotate, etc. plus a few customization options appear in the toolbar. You can also alter the color palette on the left side of the toolbar:

Modifying the main graphic color

You can also easily switch your main graphic if you want to try a different symbol. You simply need to click on the ‘Replace Symbol’ button above the toolbar on the left side, and then a popup appears where you can search for a new symbol:

Searching for a new symbol

Other customizations that you can make to your logo design include being able to change the background color (to either a solid color or gradient) by clicking the ‘BG Color’ button:

Customizing the background color of the logo design

You can quickly adjust the alignment of the logo text (to either above, below, to the left, or right of the logo symbol).

However, this feature isn’t all that helpful as whenever we tried it shrunk all the design elements down to a much smaller size, and the text was aligned strangely to the symbol:

Using the text alignment feature

You can also add ‘shields’ and additional shapes to your logo design – these include Animals, Basic shapes, Lines, badges, and even more:

Just click the ‘Add more shapes’ button and a popup will appear with a library of shapes that you can browse through:

Additional shape library

You can customize the additional shapes in the same way you customize the other logo elements – color, size, rotation, position, etc.:

Modifying the additional shape

When you’ve finished customizing your logo design, the next step is to download (purchase) your logo.

You can also leave the website and come back to buy your logo later, and your logo design should be automatically saved in the ‘My Design’ area of your account:

Navigating to my design area

And that’s you almost done, you’ve created a logo with LogoDesign.net and you can hit that ‘Download this logo’ button to make your purchase.

When you buy a logo from LogoDesign.net, no matter what package you buy, you’ll get a JPG, PNG, and PDF version of your logo design.

We’re not sure if you get a version of your design with a transparent background, but if not you can use a tool like Kapwing to easily remove the background.

You also get free unlimited edits of your logo design for one month after your purchase (then charged $5 per month after that), so can go back and create different variations of your logo design (e.g. text to the side, or symbol only, etc.).

Here are three versions of the logo we created:

Full logo

Text to side

Section 3: Logo maker review

To review LogoDesign.net’s logo maker we looked at how it performed in these areas:

Let’s see how it went.

3.1 Templates & Graphics

LogoDesign.net has a good-sized library of premade logo templates, many of which are well designed.

We’re not sure exactly how many logo templates LogoDesign.net has to offer but it doesn’t appear to be as many as some other logo makers such as BrandCrowd, Placeit, and Canva.

This is especially the case when it comes to the number of high-quality and unique-looking logo designs.

The templates on LogoDesign.net cover various categories including animals & pets, entertainment, technology, fitness, beauty, and many more.

Logo templates on LogoDesign.net

Most of the logo design categories have plenty of templates to browse through, so whatever your niche there’s a good chance you’ll have a few quality templates to choose from.

LogoDesign.net has a good range of gaming templates too, making the tool a solid option when it comes to gaming logo makers.

Here are some of the best categories for logos on LogoDesign.net:

Animal & Pet logos:

Animal & Pet logos on LogoDesign.net

Beauty logos:

Beauty logos on LogoDesign.net

Entertainment & Music logos:

Entertainment & Music logos on LogoDesign.net

Sports logos:

Sports logos on LogoDesign.net

Travel & Hotel logos:

Travel & Hotel logos on LogoDesign.net

The design quality of the logo templates on LogoDesign.net is decent but not amazing. In some of the categories, the designs are definitely a mixed bag but with enough browsing, you can find some good-quality templates.

If you’re looking for online logo makers that have genuinely high-quality logo templates and a huge variety of unique designs that you can customize we’d recommend checking out Placeit’s logo maker, BrandCrowd’s logo maker, or Canva’s logo maker.

Additional graphics & icons

The quality of the additional shapes, badges, and graphics on LogoDesign.net are fairly average.

They’re the kind of simple graphics you’ll find on most design platforms, and the range they have is hardly extensive either.

Additional graphics on LogoDesign.net

It would be great if they could add more unique extra graphic designs, and broaden the number of options too.

3.2 Ease of use & functionality

As it is with most online logo generators, there’s really no learning curve with LogoDesign.net. You can jump onto the tool and easily customize your chosen logo template in a very short amount of time.

Although it is very simple and easy to get to grips with, there are several areas that we feel LogoDesign.net could improve in and we’ll cover them in this section, including:

  • Resizing & repositioning
  • Altering the colors
  • Text & font options
  • Download options
  • Collaborations options

Resizing & repositioning

It’s easy to select a logo design element and move it around to where you want it on the canvas or resize, change the layering, etc.

However, one important feature that we feel is missing is guidelines that show you how the element you’ve selected lines up in relation to other elements of the design.

Other logo makers have this feature, and it makes it so much easier to make sure your logo design is properly aligned.

You also can’t select multiple elements at the same time which is quite frustrating, particularly if you want to resize multiple elements at the size time to keep the same ratios or move them around together.

Finally, the last main issue we had with resizing and repositioning logo elements was the ‘Align’ feature which only actually applies to the text elements but is still active when you click on a graphic element:

Choosing an alignment

Whatever alignment option you choose, your logo will be resized and the text alignment is often slightly off what it should be:

Strange text alignment

So, we feel there’s plenty for LogoDesign.net to improve on here.

Altering the colors

Again, when it comes to customizing the logo design colors things are very straightforward and intuitive.

You simply select an element of the design and the color options appear on the left side of the editor.

If you have a specific color in mind you can input the hex code for that, and you can also utilize the gradient feature which you can use to create some great looking color combinations:

Altering a color gradient

Text & font options

The text and font options on LogoDesign.net are okay. Their range of fonts is fairly standard for most logo makers, so it would be great if they could add some more unique and custom fonts to the platform.

You currently can’t upload your own fonts either, and this is likely due to licensing reasons.

There are also no options to preview how a font will look with your logo design (something that’s available on BrandCrowd’s logo maker and a few others too), and you can’t save fonts (e.g. create a favorites list), which would be a very useful feature:

Browsing the font options

Customizing the text is very easy with LogoDesign.net. You can quickly resize, reposition, change the text color, etc. All the basics that you would expect.

You can also add additional text fields to your design (it would be great to be able to duplicate a text field too!).

There are some useful additional text customization features such as being able to add a text outline, adjust the text spacing, curve the text, and more. However, we ran into issues with a couple of these additional features.

For example, we’ve already mentioned the text alignment feature above but there are also issues with the ‘offset’ and ‘shadow’ features, which allow you to add a shadow to the left or right side of the text.

The main problem with these is that you can adjust their color (it uses the same color as your text is already using):

Additional text options

With online logo makers, there’s never going to be unlimited possibilities when it comes to customizations (including the text elements) with the text elements.

However, with LogoDesign.net there is enough there to help you create some decent-looking designs (albeit not as many options as some other logo generators).

Here’s what we feel is missing from the LogoDesign.net toolkit in regards to font and text options:

  • You can’t change the color of individual letter or words within the same text field
  • You can’t upload your own fonts (this is likely due to licensing reasons)
  • The range of fonts is fairly standard (some more unique fonts would be great)
  • You can’t quickly change the text to uppercase/lowercase (a button for this would be useful)
  • No guidelines to help you align the text elements with other elements
  • The alignment feature doesn’t work all that well
  • You can’t select multiple text elements (or other elements) at the same time
  • You can’t duplicate text elements

Download options

When you download a free logo design from LogoDesign.net you’ll only get a JPG version of your design. However, when you pay for a design you get more download options.

You get access to a JPG, PNG, and PDF file version of your design.

It would be great if they made transparent background versions standard with any logo design purchase and also provided multiple variations of your design e.g. text below, to the side, text only, logo graphic only, etc.

It would also be useful if they provided buyers with an EPS version of their design.

After purchasing a logo from LogoDesin.net you get unlimited edits of your design for the first month for free, however, it will cost you $10 per month after that if you want to maintain your ability to edit your design. That price is far too steep in our opinion.

Collaboration options

As far as we can tell there are no collaboration features with LogoDesign.net. So, it would be useful if they could add features where you could share your design, and get feedback on it.

3.3 Customer Support

If you need any customer support there are a few areas you can go on LogoDesign.net:

  • FAQ section – They answer some of the most common questions
  • Contact Us form – You can reach them via the contact form
  • Twitter – You can also reach out to them via Twitter
  • Live chat widget

3.4 Our Verdict

After reviewing LogoDesign.net’s logo maker we’d say that it’s a decent online logo maker, but far from the best available.

In terms of the design quality of the logo templates, Canva, Placeit, and BrandCrowd are way ahead of them.

The customization features and flow are also okay but there are quite a few improvements that could be made there too.

That being said, their logo maker is very easy to use, so anyone should be able to jump onto the platform and create their own logo.

Here’s what we feel are the main pros and cons with LogoDesign.net’s logo maker:

Pros

  • Some good-quality logo templates
  • Very easy to use
  • Templates for most niches and industries
  • Easily find templates in your niche
  • Easy to apply your brand colors
  • Decent text customization options
  • Good color customization options
  • Easily swap out your main logo graphic for a similar one
  • Some good-quality free logo templates!

Cons

  • No collaboration features
  • Can’t upload your own fonts
  • Can’t upload your own design elements (e.g. images/shapes)
  • Standard font options
  • Standard icon/shape graphics
  • Can’t select and move multiple elements at the same time
  • A lot of average looking templates
  • Only get unlimited edits of your logo design for one month
  • Can’t easily preview new fonts for your logo design
  • You don’t get all the logo variations you need post purchase
  • You an’t easily align elements (no guidelines)

Section 4: Pricing

Here are the logo design pricing options:

  • Basic package: $39
  • Standard package: $57
  • Pro package: $97

You’ll also have to pay between $5 – $10 per month after the first month if you want to continue to be able to edit your logo design.

Free logos on LogoDesign.net

There are some free logo templates on LogoDesign.net but it’s hard to know which ones are free.

Certainly, if you go to this page it seems that all of the gaming logos there are free to customize and download (as JPG files).

You can only download your logo once though, and the free templates aren’t saved in the ‘My Design’ area:

Section 5: Licensing

You can use your logo on your website, social platforms, etc. but if you’re looking to trademark or copyright your logo, you might run into some issues.

You can find more information here.

Section 6: What else does LogoDesign.net offer?

LogoDesign.net has a few other services and design tools including the following:

  • Custom logo design – get a designer to create a bespoke logo design for you
  • Website builder – create your own website using their online website builder
  • Business card design maker – create business card designs with your logo
  • Mockup generator – mockup your logo designs on products (e.g. t-shirt)
  • Other design makers – create other designs e.g. social media headers
  • Print services – printing services for t-shirts, letterheads, etc.

Section 7: Alternative logo makers & options

When it comes to online logo generators there are several tools that we would say are better alternatives to LogoDesign.net:

Placeit and Canva are fantastic online design tools that allow you do a lot more than simply create logo designs, and BrandCrowd has a huge library of quality logo templates that you can customize.

If you plan to use a logo maker we’d highly recommend those three tools.

Alternatively, you could hire a designer to create a logo for you, we did that for Design Hub and used a designer via Fiverr.

It’s an incredible option if you’re looking for completely bespoke logo designs at great prices.

Final thoughts

LogoDesign.net is a decent logo maker that has some really good logo templates that you can customize to make your own.

However, if you’re dead set on using a logo maker for your designs we’d recommend using some of the other logo generators that we’ve mentioned in this article.

So, do you agree? What do you think of LogoDesign.net’s logo maker?

Let us know in the comments, we’d love to hear about your experience.

With a trust score of 4.9/5 on TrustPilot from over 3,000 reviews, BrandCrowd sounded promising.

We decided to give their logo maker a full run-through to see if that kind of score was justified.

In this article, we’ll take you through the ins and outs of BrandCrowd’s logo maker and we’ll also walk you through the steps needed to create your own logo on the platform.

Will it be worth the time and money? Read on to find out.

Section 1: Overview

If you haven’t come across BrandCrowd before, here’s a little bit about them:

What is BrandCrowd?

Launched around 3 years ago, BrandCrowd is primarily an online logo maker that helps users create good quality logos as quickly and as easily as possible.

Unlike AI-based logo makers like Wix, BrandCrowd’s logo maker is template-based. Each logo template has been custom designed (and categorized) and users can choose a template they like and customize it to make their own unique version.

They have a huge library of logo templates with around 65,000 designs at the time of writing.

BrandCrowd logo maker

BrandCrowd has also recently expanded its offering to include even more online design tools and templates including:

  • Business cards
  • YouTube banners
  • Facebook covers
  • Social media posts
  • Posters
  • And much more.

Section 2: How to make a logo with BrandCrowd

Here’s a step-by-step breakdown of how to create a logo with BrandCrowd:

Step 1: Enter your brand name or choose a category

To start creating your logo with BrandCrowd, go to their logo maker main page and enter your brand name:

BrandCrowd logo templates

You should see a results page with a range of logo templates with your brand name as the logo text.

From here you can narrow down your search by putting in a keyword, something that describes your niche (e.g. gaming, fashion, art, etc.).

Alternatively, instead of just inputting your brand name to get the process started you can select a relevant ‘popular keyword’ or a ‘top industry’ from the logo maker drop-down menu in the main navigation:

Choosing an option from the main navigation

Whatever option you take, you should get to a results page with logo templates that are relevant to your niche.

From here you can select even more filters to narrow the results down to templates that have the look and feel that you’re after:

Using more search filters

The extra filters are:

  • Logo styles – Icon and Text or Icon-only
  • Font styles – Traditional (Serif), Bold, Vintage, etc.
  • Color – Grayscale, Blue, Purple, etc.

When we filtered by color we got some fairly irrelevant results (we were looking for ‘food’ logos) so we’re not sure if that part of the filtering system works that well.

If you’re a bit strapped for cash you create a logo for free with BrandCrowd (we mention them in our 100% free logo makers article).

There’s no filter to view only the 100% free logo templates but if you put in a keyword into the search filters, the first few templates will be the free options, and as you scroll down you’ll see more free templates every few lines:

Free and premium templates

If you’re after really high-quality completely free logo designs we’d recommend taking a look at what Placeit or Canva has on offer.

Step 2: Choose your template

Now it’s time to choose your template.

You’re going to have pages and pages of templates to browse through so to make your life easier you can save designs to your ‘favorites shortlist’ to come back to later to make your final decision.

To do that you simply hover over a template and click the heart icon:

Favoriting a template on BrandCrowd

To see all the logo templates you’ve favorited, click on the ‘Shortlisted Logos’ tab at the bottom right of the screen and then ‘View Shortlist’. This will take you to a page with all the templates you’ve saved.

You’ll need to be logged in to a BrandCrowd account to do this.

Navigating your ‘favorites’

Once you’ve made your final decision all you have to do is click on the thumbnail image of the logo or the ‘Edit’ button to go to the editor and begin customizing your logo.

Step 3: Customize your logo

Customizing your chosen logo template on BrandCrowd couldn’t be simpler.

When you get to the editor you’ll see a screen similar to the image below with the majority of the customization options on the right side of the screen:

BrandCrowd logo editor

Customizing the logo text is very simple, there aren’t too many options.

You can change the text content, font, color, size, rotation, and a few extra options including curving the text, text outline, and also text-shadow:

Customizing the text

A nice feature that BrandCrowd offers when it comes to the logo text is that you can easily preview how your text looks in different fonts styles.

When you click on the ‘See Options’ button next to the font you’re currently using for your logo, a popup appears with a preview of alternative fonts:

Previewing alternative font options

You can filter click through the different fonts styles (Traditional, Bold, Modern, etc.) to find a style and font that works best for your logo design.

At the moment, BrandCrowd doesn’t appear to offer users the option to upload their own fonts (probably for licensing reasons).

You can also select the text elements on the canvas and easily resize them using the toggles or move them around to where you want them:

Moving text around the canvas

When it comes to your main logo graphic, you can only use the graphic of the logo template that you selected initially.

This is different from some other logo generators that give you the option to add additional graphics or replace the main graphic with a new one.

The alterations you can make to the main graphic are to change its size, position on the canvas, the opacity, and alter the color palette:

Customizing the main logo graphic

Other customizations that you can make to your logo design include being able to change the background color – solid color or gradient (you also get a transparent version of the logo design when you finalize your order):

Customizing the background color of the logo design

You can also easily adjust the layout of your logo design by utilizing one of the four layout presets in the Layout tab:

Using the layout presets

You can also add shapes to your logo design – these include badges, banners, lines, basics shapes (circles, squares, etc.), and much more:

All you need to do is go to the shapes tab, click the ‘Add Shape’ button and a popup will appear with a library of shapes that you can browse through:

Shape library

Customizing the shapes is simple. You can modify the size, position, color, rotation, opacity, duplicate, and add multiple shapes to your design:

Customizing the shape

BrandCrowd uses a layering system, so if you have several shapes or text elements on the canvas you can select one and change what order it sits in the layers by clicking the layers button above the canvas and bringing it to the front or sending it to the back:

Adjusting the element layers

When you’ve finished customizing your logo design you have a few options.

You can save it in your account to come back to later, and you can also preview it to see how it looks on different items and platforms:

BrandCrowd logo preview – business card
BrandCrowd logo preview – website

And that’s you almost done, you’ve created a logo with BrandCrowd, and you’re ready to hit that download button to make your purchase!

When you purchase a logo from BrandCrowd, they automatically give you several versions of your logo design which is super useful! This includes a full logo, icon only, text only, and grayscale versions.

The package includes JPG, PNG, PDF, SVG, and EPS files, as well as transparent versions of all the logo variations.

Here are three versions of the logo we created from our logo package:

Section 3: Logo maker review

To review BrandCrowd’s logo maker we looked at a few different areas:

Let’s go.

3.1 Templates & Graphics

BrandCrowd has a huge library of pre-designed logo templates, more than any other online logo maker as far as we know, many of which are really good quality.

Unlike some logo makers, BrandCrowd doesn’t utilize the Noun Project’s icon library for its logo designs. Each template on the platform is custom designed, so you won’t find it anywhere else.

At the time of writing, BrandCrowd has around 65,000 premade logo templates that you can use as the starting point for your logo design.

The designs span many niches including gaming, fitness, music, tech, beauty, and many more.

Logo templates on BrandCrowd

Most of the logo design categories on BrandCrowd have hundreds of templates to browse through, so whatever industry you’re in it’s likely you’ll have plenty to choose from.

We especially liked their gaming logo templates, making them one of the best gaming logo makers in our opinion.

Here are some of the best categories for logos on BrandCrowd:

Technology logos (7,400+ templates):

Technology logos on BrandCrowd

Gaming logos (4,200+ templates):

Gaming logos on BrandCrowd

Food logos (3,700+ templates):

Food logos on BrandCrowd

Travel logos (3,300+ templates):

Travel logos on BrandCrowd

Beauty logos (2,600+ templates):

Beaty logos on BrandCrowd

The design quality of the logo templates on BrandCrowd is really good. Not all of the designs in every category are great but the vast majority are high-quality.

If you browse through the templates for your industry you’re bound to find plenty of great options.

At the moment, the only other online logo makers that can match BrandCrowd in terms of the design quality and uniqueness of the logo templates are Placeit’s logo maker and Canva’s logo maker.

Additional graphics & icons

The quality of the additional shapes on BrandCrowd that you can add to your logo designs is okay, albeit a little bit basic. You’re likely to find similar icons on most of the other online logo makers.

Additional graphics on BrandCrowd

It seems that you can only use one main logo graphic when you’re creating a logo on BrandCrowd. So, whatever template you choose you can only use that main graphic in your design.

It would be great if it was possible to switch out the main graphic for similar designs whilst you’re in the editor and also if there was the option to add additional graphics.

We’re guessing that option isn’t available due to licensing reasons.

3.2 Ease of use & functionality

Creating a logo with BrandCrowd is extremely easy, anyone can jump on and create a logo in no time. Similar to most online logo generators, there’s no learning curve with BrandCrowd.

There are some improvement areas that we feel could make BrandCrowd even better, we’ll go over them in this section.

We cover the good and not so good elements, and improvements areas below, including:

  • Resizing & repositioning
  • Altering the colors
  • Text & font options
  • Download options
  • Collaborations options

Resizing & repositioning

Resizing and repositioning logo design elements couldn’t be easier. You simply need to select an element and drag it to where you want it on the canvas or use the handles to easily resize or rotate an element.

You can also quickly change the layering of elements, and also select multiple elements at the same to reposition or resize together.

Like with most logo makers, you also have guidelines to help you line elements in relation to other parts of the design which make the process that much simpler:

Logo element alignment

The option to switch the logo design through preset layouts is a great feature, and one that we haven’t seen with too many other online logo makers:

Utilizing the layout presets

The only real issue we had with the editor was not being able to delete an item by pressing the delete button on your keyboard.

You have to select an element and then press the delete button above the canvas. It’s not the end of the world but just a slight nuisance.

Having to press the delete button

Altering the colors

Customizing the colors of the design elements (graphics and text) is also super easy with BrandCrowd.

You just need to select the element you want to customize, go to the color options on the right side of the editor and choose the color(s) you want.

You can also put in a hex code if you have a specific color in mind.

BrandCrowd has some color gradients that you can utilize for the graphic elements of your logo design, which is a great feature. Unfortunately, you can’t customize these though, you can only use the preset color gradients that they offer:

Choosing a color gradient

Text & font options

The font options on BrandCrowd are quite good. With a mix of fonts that are similar to what’s available on other logo makers and some unique fonts too.

Hopefully, they continue to add more unique and bespoke font options to the platform.

You currently don’t have the ability to upload your own fonts as far as we could tell, presumably for licensing reasons.

Users also can’t save their favorite fonts, which would be a handy feature to add.

However, being able to preview how your text looks in various fonts is a great feature of BrandCrowd and makes it incredibly easy to get a sense of what fonts work best for your design:

Font previews

When it comes to customizing the text, things are super easy. You can resize, reposition, change the text color, add outlines, drop shadows, and curve the text with ease.

It’s also possible to duplicate or add additional text to the design to create more custom designs.

As is the case with most logo makers, there aren’t endless possibilities with the text elements but there’s enough there to help you create unique and good-looking designs:

Text options

Here’s what we feel is missing from the BrandCrowd toolkit in regards to font and text options:

  • You can’t change the color of individual letter or words within the same text field so they have to be all the same color or style
  • You can’t upload your own fonts (this is likely due to licensing reasons)
  • The range of fonts is fairly standard, it would be great to have some more unique font options on the platform
  • There’s no unique text customization options such as adding texture or glowing effects

Download options

When you get a free logo from BrandCrowd or purchase one you get access to plenty of download options.

You get multiple variations of your logo design (e.g. icon + text, icon only, text only, etc.) plus you can download all the variations with a solid or transparent background.

You also have several file type options including JPG, PNG, PDF, SVG, EPS files.

If you get a premium BrandCrowd you also get access to unlimited edits of your logo designs.

Collaboration options

If you’re looking for feedback on your logo designs, BrandCrowd gives the opportunity to create a ‘poll’.

Creating a feedback poll

You simply choose which designs you want feedback on (you need at least 2 designs) and then you can share them via a link, social media, or via email:

Sharing your poll

People can then give each design a star rating (between 1 and 5) and leave comments too, it’s a great way to get feedback on your designs:

Getting feedback

3.3 Customer Support

If you need any customer support there are a few areas you can go on BrandCrowd:

  • FAQ section – BrandCrowd answers FAQs at the bottom of their contact page
  • Contact Us form – You can reach them via the contact form
  • Email – support@brandcrowd.com
  • Twitter – You can also reach out to them via Twitter

3.4 Our Verdict

After reviewing BrandCrowd’s logo maker we’d say that it’s one of the top logo makers around at the moment.

In terms of the design quality of the logo templates, we think Canva and Placeit are just slightly ahead of BrandCrowd at the moment, however, there’s very little between them, and the templates on BrandCrowd certainly have their own attractive and unique style too.

There’s also a huge range of templates on offer on BrandCrowd, way more than any other platform. So, if you like having plenty to choose from then it’s definitely a logo maker that you’ll want to check out.

Their logo maker is also incredibly easy to use, so you should have no problems jumping on the platform and creating your very own logo.

In terms of usability and design quality, we’d say that the TrustPilot rating is fair. We’ll look at the pricing in the next section.

Here’s what we feel are the main pros and cons with BrandCrowd’s logo maker:

ProsCons
  • Tons of high-quality logo templates
  • Incredibly easy to use
  • Massive template library
  • Templates for many niches and industries
  • Easily find templates in your niche
  • All downloads come with all the file types and formats you’ll need
  • Unlimited edits of your logo design (after purchase)
  • Easy to apply your brand colors
  • Good text customization options
  • Easily preview new fonts for your logo design
  • Some high-quality free logo templates!
  • Get all the logo variations you need post purchase
  • Can’t upload your own fonts
  • Can’t upload your own design elements (e.g. images/shapes)
  • Can’t modify gradient colors (just use presets)
  • Can’t add multiple main graphics
  • Just the standard font options
  • Can’t move layers up one spot or back you can only move them right to the back or front of layers
  • You have to click the delete button to delete elements
  • Fairly standard icon/shape graphics

Section 4: Pricing

It seems that depending on the logo template you used as the base of your design your pricing might be slightly different from the image below.

But regardless, there will be two options when it comes to premium logo templates:

  • Monthly plan: $9 – $15 /month
  • Annual plan: $36 – $60 /year

You can cancel your plan at any time and retain access to your logo design.

BrandCrowd logo pricing

‘Free trial’ option

BrandCrowd has a decent size library of free logo templates (it features in our completely free online logo makers article).

You can download some of the logo designs completely for free, and you get all the same logo design files as you do in the premium packages.

You can only download your logo once though, and you can’t go back and do further edits to the design once you’ve downloaded your design:

Free logo package

Section 5: Licensing

There are several license options:

  • Free license: Non-exclusive rights to use your logo design (free logo templates only)
  • Standard license: Non-exclusive rights to use your logo design
  • Exclusive license: Full intelluctual property rights to the logo design (and that logo icon will be taken off of BrandCrowd)

Click here for more information regarding licenses.

If you want exclusive rights to your logo design, this is how much it will cost you:

Exclusive license cost (USD)

Section 6: What else does BrandCrowd offer?

BrandCrowd offers several additional features and services to their logo maker. When you get a premium subscription you also get access to their other graphic design tools.

This includes social media banners (Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, etc.), social media posts (Instagram, Facebook, etc.), business card designs, and even more – all of which automatically add your logo to the design template making it super easy and quick for users to use them:

Additional design tools

You can also utilize BrandCrowd’s printing service that allows you to print your logo design on several products including t-shirts, mousepads, mugs, and more:

BrandCrowd’s printing service

BrandCrowd also has a sister site called DesignCrowd, where you can create a project and multiple designers will create designs for it, and all you have to do is choose your favorite design.

It’s also a great option for logo designs.

DesignCrowd

Section 7: Alternative logo makers & options

When it comes to online logo makers there are a few tools that we would say are the best alternatives to BrandCrowd:

We think Placeit and Canva are fantastic online design tools that allow you do so much more than simply create a logo. So they’re both good options.

If you want to hire a designer to create a logo for you, we’d highly recommend checking out Fiverr.

We had our website logo created through Fiverr, and have gone back to Fiverr several more times for other design projects.

It’s a great option if you’re looking for more bespoke designs at great prices.

Final thoughts

BrandCrowd has a really good product, and if you’re planning to use a logo maker to create your own logo it’s certainly one of the best options out there at the moment.

They have an insanely huge library of logo templates so no matter what your niche you’re very likely to find some high-quality logo designs that you can easily customize to make your own.

So, do you agree? What do you think of BrandCrowd’s logo maker?

There are plenty of online logo makers on the market and one of the most popular options is DesignEvo.

With over 4,000 reviews on Trustpilot (and a rating of 4.8 stars) we decided to give the popular logo design tool a spin to see if that rating was justified.

In this article, we’ll take you through the ins and outs of DesignEvo’s logo maker to establish if it’s worth your time and money.

We’ll also walk you through the steps to create your own logo with the tool.

Let’s do it.

Jump to a specific section:

Section 1: Overview

If you’re not too familiar with DesignEvo, here’s a quick rundown for you:

What is DesignEvo?

Unlike some of the logo makers we’ve reviewed in the past such as Placeit and Canva, DesignEvo is an online design tool solely focused on helping its users create logo designs.

They have a sizeable library of logo templates organized by specific categories that you can easily browse to find your ideal design.

DesignEvo homepage

The logo design categories on DesignEvo with the most templates are:

  • Animal & Pet (1,500+ templates)
  • Art & Entertainment (1,400+ templates)
  • Nature & Environment (1,000+ templates)
  • Sport & Fitness (900+ templates)
  • Lettermark designs (900+ templates)
  • Food & Drink (800+ templates)
  • And many more

Section 2: How to make a logo with DesignEvo

Here are the steps you need to take to create your own logo using DesignEvo:

Step 1: Go to the logo maker and select a category

To start your logo design journey with DesignEvo, you simply need to click the ‘Make a Free Logo’ button on their homepage, then choose a logo design category that fits your niche:

DesignEvo logo templates

Alternatively, if you’re feeling bold, you can start your logo design off from a blank canvas by clicking the ‘Start From Scratch’ button at the top right:

Starting your design from a blank canvas

If you’re on an extremely tight budget and you’re looking for a genuinely free logo maker that lets you download a high-resolution file of your logo without a watermark then DesignEvo will disappoint.

You can “use the tool for free” (as a lot of logo makers like to highlight) but you can only download a very low-resolution logo design file for free.

If you’re after completely free logo designs we’d recommend checking out Placeit or Canva as they allow you to do download some high-quality logo designs at full resolution.

Step 2: Choose your template

If you’re going to down the route of utilizing one of DesignEvo’s predesigned templates your next step is to choose one that you like.

Regardless of the logo category you choose, you’ll likely have hundreds of templates to browse through so to make things a bit easier you can save designs to your ‘favorites’ to come back to later to make your final decision.

To do that you simply hover over a template and click the heart icon:

Favoriting a template on Design Evo

To get to your favorite templates you just need to click on ‘My Favorites’ and the templates will be filtered to the ones you saved so you can make your final decision.

You’ll need to be logged in to a DesignEvo account to do this.

Accessing your ‘favorites’

If you find a template that has a general theme and look that you like but it’s not quite the perfect fit you can quickly find similar templates.

Simply click on the ‘Similar’ button on a template:

Finding similar logo templates

A popup will appear with very similar logos to the original template.

In the image above you can see we clicked on the ‘Similar’ button of a logo that had a fire/flame theme, this was the similar template options we got in the popup:

Similar ‘flame’ logo templates

This is a nice feature! We thought the similar template suggestions were very relevant.

Once you’ve decided on your chosen template you simply need to hover on it and click the ‘Customize’ button to go to the editor.

Step 3: Customize your logo

Customizing the logo designs on DesignEvo is extremely easy. When you arrive in the editor you’ll see a screen similar to this with the logo design elements on the canvas and the customization options on the left side:

DesignEvo logo editor

When it comes to customizing the logo text, you can either add some new text to the canvas by clicking on add text buttons in the text tab or by clicking one of the font options:

Adding new text to the canvas

The font options on DesignEvo are broken down into Bold, Modern (Sans), Traditional (Serif), Handwriting, and Funny fonts styles. They also have a small selection of preset ‘Art’ font styles.

At the moment, it doesn’t appear that you can upload your own custom fonts to use on DesignEvo.

You can also add additional shapes and icons (graphics) to the canvas. The icon library is pretty big, so if you search for a specific element (e.g. animal, fire, shield, weapon, etc.) you’ll likely find a good number of options:

Finding and adding graphic elements to the canvas

When it comes to customizing the elements on the canvas, this is just as easy.

If you click on one of the graphics you can do several customizations including being able to move it around on the canvas to reposition it (you can also use the arrows on your keyboard to do this), flip it vertically, horizontally, and you can also change the opacity.

You can duplicate elements from the canvas too, this allows you to create some unique designs.

Changing the colors of an element is very simple, you choose preset color options or choose your own custom color:

Changing the element colors

If you’re using a color gradient you can also easily customize the colors and even the direction of the gradient:

Customizing the color gradient

Similar options are available when it comes to modifying the logo text.

You can move it around on the canvas, duplicate it, change the font, size – all the standard options that you would expect:

Logo text customization

You can also easily adjust the alignment, spacing, and line-height of the text, as well as being able to easily curve the text in the direction you want:

Curving the text element

You can also add additional text effects, including changing opacity, adding a shadow, and adding an outline around the text:

Adding extra text effects

DesignEvo uses a layering system, so if you have several graphic or text elements on the canvas you can select one and change what order it sits in the layers by clicking the layers button at the top right and clicking forward or backward:

Adjusting layers

Finally, changing the background color is very quick. You simply click on the background tab on the left side menu and select either a transparent background, solid color, or a gradient:

Changing the background color

Creating and customzing a logo from a blank canvas

If you go down the route of starting from a blank canvas on DesignEvo all the customization options are the same, you just have to add elements to a blank canvas.

You can add icons, shapes, and text from the left side tabs and then customize them like you would with one of the predesigned templates.

In our opinion, the icons library you can search through isn’t as high-quality as the predesigned templates which look more professional and less like standard icons that you can find on most platforms:

Starting from a blank canvas

When you’ve got your logo setup how you want it, you can do a few a things.

You can save it in your account to come back to later, and you can also preview it to see how it looks on various mockups:

Logo preview mockups 1
Logo preview mockups 2

And that’s it, you’ve created a logo with DesignEvo, and you’re ready to hit the download button to make your purchase!

We also recommend creating several versions of your logo to make sure you have different formats for the different platforms you’ll need them for e.g. your website, social media profiles, merch, etc.

When you purchase a logo from DesignEvo you can go back and make unlimited edits of the design once you’ve purchased it.

Here are the three versions of the logo we created:

Section 3: Logo maker review

To review Design Evo’s logo maker we looked at a few different areas:

Let’s go.

3.1 Templates & Graphics

Design Evo has a good range of pre-designed logo templates that you can use as the starting point for your design.

At the time of writing, there are over 10,000 logo templates, and these span various categories from sport & fitness, animal & pet to lettermark logos, and much more.

Logo templates on DesignEvo

Most of the logo design categories on DesignEvo have at least a few hundred templates with the smallest category being ‘Legal & Politics’ with just over 120 logo templates.

So whatever niche you’re in it’s likely that there will be a good number of templates that are a good match.

Here are some of the best categories for logos on DesignEvo:

Animal & Pet logos (1,500+ templates):

Animal & Pet logos on DesignEvo

Art & Entertainment logos (1,400+ templates):

Art & Entertainment logos on DesignEvo

Nature & Enviroment logos (1,000+ templates):

Nature & Environment logos on DesignEvo

Sport & Fitness logos (900+ templates):

Sport & Fitness logos on DesignEvo

Lettermark logos (900+ templates):

Lettermark logos on DesignEvo

The design quality of the logo templates on DesignEvo is a bit of a mixed bag.

Some templates look great, whilst others look a bit basic or like clipart. However, if you do enough browsing through the options you’re likely to find plenty of quality templates for your niche.

If you’re looking for logo makers with a broader range of high-quality predesigned templates we’d recommend checking Placeit’s logo maker, or Canva’s logo maker.

That being said, there’s a good number of unique designs on DesignEvo, and different options in terms of lettermark logos and graphic logos.

You can certainly do a lot worse than DesignEvo in terms of the logo template quality.

Graphics & Icons

The quality of the graphics and icons in DesignEvo’s library is pretty standard. Many of the extra icons that you can add to your designs are available on most logo makers, and a good number of them look a bit like clipart.

Icon options on DesignEvo

3.2 Ease of use & functionality

If you looked at the process of creating a logo with DesignEvo you’ll have seen, like with most online logo makers, how easy and quick it was to create a logo with DesignEvo.

You can jump on to the tool and have your logo created in no time at all.

There are a few areas that DesignEvo could improve though, we’ll cover them in this section.

We cover the good and poor elements, and improvements areas below, including:

  • Resizing & repositioning
  • Altering the colors
  • Text & font options
  • Download options
  • Collaborations options

Resizing & repositioning

Resizing and repositioning the logo design elements on DesignEvo is incredibly simple. You just need to select an element and the customization options are very obvious and apparent.

Lines on the editor area show you where a selected element is in relation to the canvas (e.g. if it’s centered) and also where it sits in relation to the other design elements

All really helpful features to ensure your logo elements are lined up correctly:

Aligning design elements

With the layer system on DesignEvo, it’s also easy to make your elements site in the order that you want them to be.

You can also select multiple elements at the same time and move them around or resize them together which is a very helpful feature. Not all logo makers we’ve used have this option.

Moving multiple elements together

The toolbar above the canvas also makes it very quick and easy to adjust the placement of logo elements. You can see in the image above the options to change the alignment of the selected elements.

Altering the colors

Customizing the colors of the design elements (graphics and text) is also super easy on DesignEvo.

All you have to do is select the color palette for the element you want to customize and select your color from the options. You can also input the hex code of a color if you have a specific one that you want to use.

We also like the color gradient option that DesignEvo offers, especially the feature that gives you the ability to change the direction of the gradient:

Altering the color gradient

Text & font options

The font options on DesignEvo are fairly average. The library of fonts that they offer is available on most logo makers, and you can’t upload your own fonts (probably for licensing reasons) so it would be great if they could broaden the options.

You also can’t save your favorite fonts. For example, if you wanted to test out a few different fonts with your logo you have to go back to the full list each time you want to test out a font. It would be great if you could save some favorites and have that list quickly available to compare them.

So there’s plenty of room to improve in regards to fonts.

When it comes to customizing the text, things are much better. There aren’t too many features on offer but what’s available is very useful – including curving the text, adding an outline, quickly switching between uppercase and lowercase, adding text shadow, changing the spacing, line height, etc.

It’s not endless possibilities but enough to help you customize your logo text in the way that you want:

Text options

As with all logo elements on DesignEvo, you can easily duplicate your text:

Duplicating text (and other elements)

Here’s what we feel is missing from the DesignEvo toolkit in regards to font and text options:

  • You can’t change the color of individual letter or words within the same text field so they have to be all the same color
  • You can’t upload your own fonts (this is due to licensing reasons presumably)
  • The range of fonts is standard if not limited, a broader range would be great

Download options

When it comes to the logo design download options on DesignEvo they offer all the essential options.

The file size is great (up to 5000x5000px) and you get a JPG, PNG, and transparent PNG version of your logo (as well as the ability. to go back and make unlimited edits.

If you pay for the ‘Plus’ package you can also get an SVG and PDF version of your logo design, plus you get the logo design sources files.

Collaboration options

You can share a link to your logo design(s) but there aren’t really any collaboration options on DesignEvo. If you want to collaborate on a logo design with someone else using an online logo maker, Canva would be your best option.

It would be great if DesignEvo introduced a feature where multiple users could comment on the same design.

3.3 Customer Support

If you need any customer support there’s only a couple of areas you can go on DesignEvo:

  • FAQ section – DesignEvo answers many frequently asked questions here
  • Live chat – They also haver a live chat feature if you need questions answered straight away
Live chat on DesignEvo
  • Contact Us form – You can reach them via the contact form
  • Twitter – You can also reach out to them via Twitter

3.4 Our Verdict

After reviewing DesignEvo’s logo maker we’d say that, as far as online logo makers go, it’s a great option. There’s plenty to like about DesignEvo, however, it’s not quite as good as a few alternative options (namely, Placeit, Canva, and Wix).

They do offer some unique and high-quality logo templates not found on other platforms so they are still well worth checking out if you plan to use an online logo maker to create your logo.

DesingEvo also has a good range of templates (over 10,000) so no matter what niche you’re in there’s a good chance they’ll have some logos that have the look and feel that you’re after.

Their logo maker is also insanely easy to use, literally anyone could jump on to it and create a logo in no time at all.

Here’s what we feel are the main pros and cons with DesignEvo’s logo maker:

Pros

  • Plenty of high-quality logo templates
  • Incredibly user-friendly interface
  • Easy logo customization
  • Big template library (10,000+)
  • Templates for many niches and industries
  • Easily find templates in your niche
  • Downloads come with multiple file formats (JPG, PNG, transparent, etc.)
  • Unlimited edits of your logo design (after purchase)
  • Affordable (pricing info below)
  • Easy to apply your brand colors
  • Solid text customization options
  • Good color customization options

Cons

  • Poor range of fonts
  • Standard icon library
  • No real collaboration features
  • Can’t upload your own fonts
  • Can’t upload your own design elements (e.g. images/shapes)
  • Some poor quality logo template

Section 4: Pricing

There are two logo packages:

  • Basic: $24.99
  • Plus: $49.99

Both are a one-time fee and give you a high-resolution version of your logo design.

However, if you need the source files, and copyright license for your logo design (which is recommended) you’ll need to get the Plus package.

DesignEvo logo pricing

‘Free trial’ option

DesignEvo doesn’t really have a free option so we can’t class it as a free online logo maker.

You can download a version of your logo design for free but it’s very low resolution and won’t be of much use to you.

Section 5: Licensing

As mention above, if you need the copyright license for your logo design you’ll need to get the Plus package ($49.99).

Click here for more information regarding the copyright license.

DesignEvo copyright information

Section 6: What else does DesignEvo offer?

As DesignEvo is solely a tool for making logos there isn’t much else they offer.

They do have a mobile app though, which is available for both iOS and Android devices.

It gives all the same features and functionality but you can do it all on your phone.

DesignEvo mobile app

Section 7: Alternative logo makers & options

When it comes to online logo makers there are a few tools that have a high-quality offering than DesignEvo.

Here are the best alternative logo makers to check out:

We think Placeit and Canva are incredible tools, and you can do a lot more than simply create logos with them.

If you want to go down a different path and have a designer create a logo for you, we’d highly recommend checking out Fiverr.

We had our website logo created through Fiverr, and have gone back to Fiverr several more times for other design projects.

It’s a great option if you’re looking for more bespoke designs at great prices.

Fiverr logo design gigs

Final thoughts

DesignEvo is a good logo maker that allows you to quickly and easily create some quality logo designs.

It’s probably not as good as a few other logo makers at the moment but with their large logo template library and range of designs, you’re bound to find some high-quality templates no matter what niche you’re in.

So, do you agree? What do you think of DesignEvo’s logo maker?

Let us know in the comments, we’d love to hear about your experience.

You probably came here wanting to know if you should use Fiverr to get your own Twitch logo designed, right?

You’ve come to the right place.

We’re going to take you through our journey on Fiverr so you can see if the platform is the right fit for you.

We went through the process of working with not just one, but six Twitch logo designers on Fiverr.

Read on to find out how it all went for us.

Let’s go.

Jump to a specific section:

Section 1: Overview

Before we dive into the meaty details. Here’s the answer to the fundamental question you’ll likely have:

Do you recommend streamers use Fiverr to get their Twitch logo designed?

The answer to that is: most definitely.

There are plenty of other incredible options when it comes to getting Twitch logos, but we’ve used Fiverr plenty of times (including for our own brand logo) and we’ve almost always loved the end results.

That being said, there are pros and cons of using Fiverr, and other things you need to keep in mind. So read on to make sure it’s the right option for you.

What is Fiverr?

If you’ve searched for information about the platform you likely know all about it.

But for those of you who aren’t sure, here’s a quick run-through of what Fiverr is.

Put simply it’s a marketplace that matches people looking for help with a one-off or ongoing project (e.g. getting a Twitch logo designed) and freelancers who can work on that project for them.

You can find freelancers for almost any task, see the details of the ‘gigs’ that they offer (pricing, reviews, delivery times, etc.), and hire them to help you with a couple of clicks.

Some Twitch logo gigs on Fiverr

If you’re on a seriously tight budget, you can easily filter the Fiverr gig results to ensure they all fit within your price range. There are plenty of great designers at insanely affordable prices on the platform.

When it comes to Twitch logo design there are plenty of good designers on Fiverr, with prices ranging from $5 and skyrocketing up to $1,050 (although that gig includes a full stream package)!

$1,050 Twitch logo design gig on Fiverr

Why did we do this?

We wanted to get some great-looking Twitch stream designs that we could give away completely for free on Design Hub, and we’ve used Fiverr in the past so it was no brainer to go back and tap into the wealth of design talent there.

It also gave us a great excuse to write up a review of our experience getting Twitch logo designs via the platform to help you make an informed choice when it comes to getting your Twitch logo design made.

We hope this review and guide help you out!

Section 2: How to choose the right Fiverr designer for your Twitch logo

How you go about finding a logo designer to work with on Fiverr depends on what kind of logo you’re after.

For example, if you want a classic mascot logo that’s popular amongst gamers on Twitch all you really have to do is search “twitch logo” and you’ll have plenty of options to browse through:

Search results for “Twitch logo” on Fiverr

As you can from the image above, the vast majority of the gigs on the first page of results for the search “twitch logo” (filtered to logo designs only) are for mascot-style logos, which is awesome if you want that kind of logo.

If you want something slightly different you’ve got to get a bit more creative with your searches (or use search filters – more on that a bit further down).

Have a play around with different searches to see what you can find e.g. use search terms like “minimalist twitch logo” or “initial gaming logo” or whatever describes what you’re looking for and you should be able to find some logo designers that are a good match.

Search results for “minimalist twitch logo”

You can see the search results above for the term “minimalist twitch logo” (again filtered to logo designs only). There were quite a lot fewer gigs in the search results but the ones that were there were very different from the initial search for “Twitch logo” search.

Try different searches to find your ideal logo designer.

You can also search for non-Twitch or gaming-focused logo designers to see if you can some that have the style that you’re looking for.

We’ve worked with logo designers on Fiverr in the past and have found plenty of great designers at affordable prices that have adaptable styles no matter what niche you’re in.

Use filters

This one should be fairly obvious, but you should make sure to take advantage of the filtering options on Fiverr to narrow down your searches.

You can filter by price, logo style, file formats provided, if you get the logo source files, seller details (e.g. they’re rating, and if they speak fluent English), etc.

Search filtering options on Fiverr

Input and select all your filters and this should really narrow down the number of gigs and designers in the results.

When it comes to pricing, a word of warning. Cheaper isn’t always better. Be aware that a good amount (not all) of the cheapest gigs don’t actually design logos themselves. They use online tools like Canva to create the logo e.g.:

Gigs using Fiverr templates

You can see from the image above that two of the gigs are using Canva logo templates as their gigs featured image. You can actually get these logos for free on Canva.

So keep that in mind, but still obviously filter the results to show gigs within your budget range.

At this stage we recommend browsing through the results, taking note of any featured images that catch your eye, and adding any interesting gigs to a favorites list.

The way to do that is to create a new list (you can go to your list section via the link in the main navigation area) and then simply click the heart icon on a gig to add it to your list, so you can keep browsing and come back to all your saved gigs later on:

Adding a gig to your favorites list

Check the logo designers gig page and seller profile

Now that you’ve some logo designer candidates it’s time to take a closer look at their gig pages and seller profiles.

This is all pretty straightforward again, you need to look through the images of their past work and their portfolio to see if their style really matches up to what you’re looking for.

Check the gig details and compare the gig packages on offer to make sure they include everything you need

Pro tip: make sure to get a good amount of revisions with your gig purchase, and we’d also recommend you get a few logo concepts included as part of the gig, in case the designer doesn’t nail the first one:

Comparing gig packages

If you need something specific (e.g. the logo design source files or the copyright for the design) make sure that’s included. If it’s not you can do two things.

First, you can check the gig extras (when you click on ‘Continue’ you’ll be taken to an order details page – no purchase made yet) where you can sometimes see gig extras that you can add to your order:

Gig extras

Second, you can talk to the designer before you purchase the gig (we recommend you do this before you make any purchase anyway to get to a better feel for the designer).

They might be able to create a custom gig offer for you that includes everything you need.

Contacting a seller

Also, be sure to check that the seller has delivered on a fair amount of projects (at least 25 plus). If a Fiverr logo designer has done plenty of gigs then you can be more confident that they can deliver on what they say they will.

Look at their positive and negative reviews (if they have any)

Be sure to look at a logo designer’s negative reviews (not just the positive).

Everyone can have the occasional off day or a project that simply does not go well for whatever reason, but if there are common patterns with their poor reviews, they might be someone to avoid working with.

We’ve done this before in the past, saw that there was a bit of a pattern in the negative reviews a seller was getting but decided to give them a chance anyway. Unfortunately, the same negative experience happened to us too.

But that’s a lesson learned the hard way.

Here’s an example of some negative reviews that seem to have a common theme (delayed delivery time). Although to be fair some of these might just be the buyers not reading the gig details closely enough:

Negative reviews with a common theme

Once you’ve done all that you should be ready to choose the perfect logo designer on Fiverr for your project.

Here are the designers and gigs we chose to create our Twitch logos:

Luckily, all of these guys were really good to work with for our logo designs!

Section 3: Briefing the designers

Once you’ve confirmed your order on Fiverr it’s time to put in the requirements for the job. This is a really important step.

If you give your chosen logo designer a vague and limited brief then it’s going to be tough for them to deliver exactly what you had in mind.

Usually, your best bet is to go with a fairly detailed brief unless you’ve spoken with the designer beforehand and they are happy to work with a small brief to come up with concepts themselves.

We gave each of the six Twitch logo designers a very similar brief that we felt gave them a pretty clear direction for the design but also left a bit of room for them to use their own initiative and get creative with the concepts.

One important element that we gave to all the designers was to provide examples and visual inspiration for what we’re after:

Giving examples to a logo designer

Some designers have a questionnaire for the brief whilst others just have a section for you to describe what you’re after but you should essentially be able to give each the same brief.

Just be sure to give as much detail for your requirements as you can.

Section 4: Final logo designs

After some revisions and edits, here are the final Twitch logos designs we ended up with:

Designer 1: Massam artwork

Massam artwork final logo design

Designer 2: Raastudio

Raastudio final logo design

Designer 3: Gc_fresh_ideas

Gc_fresh_ideas final logo design

Designer 4: Mynameiismud

Mynameissmud final logo design

Designer 5: Digituscreat1ve

Digitascreat1ve final logo design

Designer 6: Aiadesign

Aiadesign final logo design

We thought all the designers did a great job.

Section 5: Tips for hiring a Twitch logo designer via Fiverr

If you’re simply after quick-fire tips on hiring Twitch logo designers on Fiverr, here they are:

More expensive doesn’t always mean better quality – just because you pay more doesn’t mean the quality will be higher. Shop around, and you’ll find some great logo designers at incredible price points.

Do a thorough search – take your time, have a good look through designers (there’s going to be a lot!) but this searching time is worth it. Don’t just pick the first designer you see. You can thank us later.

Talk to the designer before you put in the order – your Twitch logo is an important part of your brand you want to make sure the logo designer you’re working with is a good fit. Message them before you order, discuss what you’re looking for with your Twitch logo, and see if they can deliver on it.

Have examples of what you’re looking for – be sure to provide plenty of examples for what you’re looking for with your Twitch logo. Not for the designer to copy but so they get a good sense of what you want your logo to look and feel like

Add extras where needed – e.g. source files, commercial rights, more revisions, etc.

Get designers to create custom offers if you need – If you don’t see everything you want in a Twitch logo design gig you can either look at the options in the gig extras or talk to the designer and see if they can create a custom offer for you based on your needs. Most will be open to doing this.

Make sure it’s clear that you want unique designs – some designers will use templates, make it clear that you don’t want this if you’re looking for a completely unique design. Templates are useful for designers, but when it comes to a Twitch logo design, you want it to be completely bespoke.

So make it clear that you do not want any templates to form the basis of your logo design or copies of any other logo for that matter!

See if the designer provides concept drawings – some of the designers we worked with provided sketches of the logo before we committed to that design, some designs simply created the first version of the design without showing any sketches.

We’d always recommend working with designs that do provide sketches so you’re not committed to a design.

Don’t assume the logo designer will get ‘creative’ – some of the logo designers you work with will bring their own ideas and generate concepts for your logo design based on your initial request while others will simply do the bare minimum and not really bring fresh ideas.

It’s hard to know what kind of designer you’ll get but at least talking to them before, checking out their portfolio, and reviews will give you a good sense. You can also ask them if they’re happy to get creative and create unique concepts for your logo design.

Make sure you have revisions included in your gig purchase – We’ve mentioned it before, but it’s worth having as its own point. Make sure you have revisions included in your logo design package!! It’s very unlikely the designer will nail the logo the first time, so be on the safe side and ensure you have revisions to utilize.

Don’t be afraid to ask for revisions – If you have 2,3 or possibly unlimited revisions (which you should definitely make sure to get), don’t be afraid to ask for them. It’s not a criticism of the logo designer’s skills, you’ve paid for a service and you should get what you want.

It can be hard to give feedback and ask for changes but do it. You want to be completely satisfied with what you paid for.

Section 6: Pros and Cons, and alternative options

There are pros and cons to most things in life, and Fiverr is no different.

Here’s what we feel are the main pros and cons of working with logo designers on Fiverr:

Pros

  • You get access to talented and extremely affordable designers
  • Great support from Fiverr as a buyer (buyer protection)
  • Many different designers to choos from with a huge variety of styles
  • You can get designs created and sent over quickly
  • Some designers will go above and beyond on the project
  • You can usually add all the extras you need (e.g. source files, copyright, etc.)

Cons

  • Designers can be working on many other projects at the one time
  • Scammy sellers
  • You pay for what you get (cheap designs can deliver cheap results)
  • Some designers won’t be all that creative or invested
  • Unlimited revisions doesn’t always mean you will get unlimited revisions
  • Poor communication experience

Alternative Options

If Fiverr isn’t a route you want to go down for your Twitch logo design, you have a few alternative options.

Logo Makers:

Twitch gaming logo templates on Placeit

We’ve reviewed several logo makers, including gaming logo makers and there are quite a few good options out there. Particularly if you’re looking for a mascot-style logo.

You won’t get the most bespoke design or have full control over the logo customization but it’s an affordable option that allows you to create some good Twitch logo designs.

Design contest websites

99Designs

There are design contest websites such as 99Designs and DesignCrowd where you can create a design competition.

You simply outline the requirements and the prize and a whole host of designers will submit designs to the competition.

All you have to do then is pick your favorite.

Work with Twich niche-specialists

Logo designs from Tactical Lion Designs

You could also work with Twitch design specialists and companies. These will likely be a bit more expensive than your average Fiverr designer.

However, you pay for what you get and the experience these companies and designers have with working with Twitch streamers and the platform means you’ll more than likely get some incredible designs for your brand.

Some great examples are Visuals By Impulse and Tactical Lion Designs.

Do it yourself

If you have the design skills or the will to learn them you could create your own Twitch logo using graphic design software such as Adobe Photoshop or Illustrator!

Section 7: How we found it and do we recommend it?

We really enjoyed using Fiverr to get our Twitch logos designed, and we’re happy with the end results.

No option when it comes to getting designs made for your brand is going to be 100% perfect but we spent a good amount of time selecting the designers we wanted to work with which we think resulted in a smooth and successful experience.

If you have a modest budget but still want high-quality bespoke logo designs you should definitely give Fiverr a shot.

For those of you who can spend a little bit more, you can certainly find great designers to work with on Fiverr or potentially using a niche-specialist company or designer as we mentioned in the previous section.

Final thoughts

So there you have it, that’s our experience and advice with working with Twitch logo designers on Fiverr. We hope this helps you out!

If you want to get a fantastic logo for your brand we’d recommend checking out the logo designers on Fiverr. There’s plenty of talent there.

Let us know your thoughts, we’d love to hear about your experience with getting your Twitch logo designed via Fiverr!
